Eni says in arbitration over Gazprom’s suspension of supplies

ROME, May 10 (PRIME) -- Italian energy company Eni is in an arbitration dispute with Russian gas giant Gazprom in connection with its decision to suspend supplies of natural gas in June 2022, the company’s management said on Monday in response to a question from shareholders prior to Wednesday’s general meeting of shareholders.

The company’s contracts with Gazprom are still in force even though the Russian company started cutting supplies in June 2022. The reduction of pumping by Gazprom Export is subject of a confidential arbitration dispute and the company cannot provide any additional information, Eni said.

Eni imported 17 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia in 2022, including 11 billion cubic meters that were meant for Italy and 6 billion cubic meters meant for Turkey.
